You can usually find Emi dancing hula, playing soccer or participating in baseball. Emi loves reading and hopes to become a librarian when she grows up. She loves speaking to groups of people about life with T1D, and worked with her counselor to create a presentation that she’s given to four different classes, with a goal to eventually present it to the entire school. Emi is looking forward to bringing her enthusiasm for T1D advocacy to Washington, D.C. and hopes that one day “we will find a cure for type 1 diabetes.”
