Age: 8
Age at T1D diagnosis: 6

Ellie loves participating in ballet and hip hop dance classes and swimming, and recently completed her first 5K run. She is very proud of the fact that she’s been able to continue doing all the things that she loves while managing T1D. Ellie and her family are very active with JDRF, and have been a part of Galas, JDRF One Walk events, Rides and have even hosted dinners at their home for families of kids newly diagnosed with T1D. Ellie has already gained experience raising awareness about T1D by speaking to other children at her school about what it means to live with T1D, and looks forward to bringing her passion for advocacy to D.C.
