Age at T1D diagnosis: 12

Daniel wrote the book about living with T1D. Literally. As part of his mission to raise awareness about T1D, Daniel wrote a book targeted to pre-teens and teens to let them know they can overcome the challenges of living with the disease. An all-around idea man, Daniel is also an innovative fundraiser for JDRF, running events at the local trampoline park, securing a corporate partnership for the Long Island Chapter’s JDRF One Walk event, and organizing a ‘Donate a Dollar for Diabetes’ in-school fundraiser on National Diabetes Day. Daniel has also served as a JDRF Youth Ambassador since 2015. A winner of numerous science fair competitions, Daniel is interested in engineering and endocrinology, and hopes to have a career researching a cure for T1D.
