Age: 9
Age at T1D diagnosis: 1

Colin dreams of a world without T1D. He hopes to become an inventor or engineer to find a way to make living with the disease easier—and ultimately aspires to discover a cure. In fact, Colin already supports T1D research and awareness by participating in JDRF Walks with his family, friends, and the rest of his team, Colin’s Crew.

Colin likes to get everyone involved—his family recently hosted a bike-a-thon, and this year his school will host a Kids Walk. “A cure is important to me because I don’t want to have type 1 diabetes for the rest of my life,” Colin says. When he’s not out raising awareness and funds for T1D research, Colin enjoys building with Legos, playing soccer, shooting hoops, and reading mystery books.
