Age: 9
Age at T1D diagnosis: 20 months

Chance really likes arts and crafts—and when he grows up he would like to be an artist, engineer or architect. He and his family have participated in JDRF One Walk every year since his diagnosis and have raised more than $86,000. They are also very involved with their JDRF Hope Gala, where Chance and his twin brother were Junior Ambassadors last year. Chance says, “I really enjoy going to the JDRF Easter egg hunts and the spring picnics because there are a lot of kids there with the same pump I have.” Chance has also spoken to his parents’ co-workers and his Representative about what it’s like to have T1D. “I hope one day there will be a cure for diabetes. And if not, then I hope there will be technology that makes T1D easier.”
