Age at T1D diagnosis: 8

Brooklyn likes collecting rare stamps, practicing archery and performing music. She also enjoys speaking on behalf of people with T1D. She has been interviewed for radio, television and newspaper stories, and also recorded commercials for her local JDRF One Walk. While T1D is tough, she tries to stay upbeat about it. She says, “Yes, there are some days when I feel like giving up, but I remember staying tough, strong and positive is what I have to do.” She plans on using her voice until type one becomes type none. “I will keep educating and teaching families about diabetes until we have our cure.”
