In her spare time, Bria enjoys gymnastics, drawing and acting in plays, such as The Wizard of Oz. She says, “When I grow up I want to invent a diabetes school where all the kids and teachers have diabetes so everyone can understand me.” Bria also wants to become a mom, an artist and a popstar when she’s older. Last year, she and her friend Eliana—who also has diabetes—raised $284 for T1D research through a lemonade stand and cake sale. She explains, “We made signs and told our friends to come—and I can’t wait to do it again next year and make more money.” Bria and her family also take part in their JDRF Gala, and her father organizes a car race every year to raise money for a cure.
