"When I got diabetes, I thought I would never be able to do anything," Aubrey says. "But the truth is that type 1 diabetes only made me stronger." Diagnosed at age 10, she was courageous enough to do a live broadcast in front of her school, telling them that she has type 1 and explaining what it is.

After being commended by her classmates for her bravery, and seeing people start to become interested, she says, "I knew I should keep telling kids and adults about diabetes because my voice made a difference." Aubrey has spoken in front of 2,000 people about diabetes, sang the National Anthem at the JDRF Walk to Cure Diabetes, and has even spoken about diabetes in a documentary. Aubrey loves to sing, dance, act, ride horses, and create art. Her goal is to not let diabetes stop her from doing anything.
