Age at T1D diagnosis: 4

Arianna is a seventh grader who loves school and plans to be inducted into the National Junior Honor Society this year. She’s also a champion for T1D research and awareness, having served as a team captain at walk events for the American Diabetes Association and JDRF. In her seven years of walking for T1D, she raised $50,000 toward a cure. She says, “T1D research programs and advances in technology are important to me because they save people’s lives.” In her spare time, Arianna likes to swim, babysit and play volleyball and softball. One of her dreams is to eventually play softball in the Olympics. She says, “Congress should support diabetes-related issues because I don’t want to live with diabetes for the rest of my life.”
