Andrew knows how to spread the word about T1D. “I’m not shy about my T1D or the tools I use to manage it, and I’d be thrilled to tell anyone willing to listen how T1D affects every minute of every day of my life. Awareness is very important to me.” In fact, Andrew’s favorite part of serving as a JDRF ambassador is speaking with newly diagnosed kids about the disease.

Another way Andrew contributes is by participating in JDRF Walks. He has even carved walking sticks to sell during the event. Andrew loves visiting Disneyland, having “Nerf wars” with his brother, and reading—especially the Percy Jackson series. An honors student, he is proud of his lead role in his school play and hopes to become an author when he grows up.
