Age: 15
Age at T1D diagnosis: 13

Living with T1D may keep Abbey on her toes, but nothing can stop this performing powerhouse from taking the stage. Just five days after her diagnosis with T1D, Abbey was back in her favorite place—on stage, front and center, performing a dance solo.

And her love of the arts doesn’t stop there—Abbey is also an avid singer and actress, and loves to compete on her dance team. She dreams of one day starring on Broadway, or becoming a therapist for kids struggling with their T1D diagnosis. “I hope to be a role model for other kids and have them want to stand up for type 1 diabetes. All we need is one person to start a movement, and I believe I can help!”
