Raymond from Washington
Profile:

Raymond, 11, was the last of his siblings to be diagnosed. He was 4 years old, and though the adjustment was hard, it was even harder for him to deal with the fact that he lost friends, because they thought they could "catch" diabetes. Raymond loves school, and his interests include reading and building things. He's also into science in a big way, and wants to be a doctor or scientist who specializes in diabetes research. With his family, he has participated in the JDRF Walk, and on his own, he's talked to other kids about diabetes. He wants our U.S. Congress to know that "kids are our future, and diabetes can be a thing we look back on and say, "Wow, was it really like that?'"
