Holland from Virginia
Profile:

Holland turns 8 during Children's Congress, and she says the greatest gift she could get would be a cure. She was diagnosed with diabetes in New York City at the age of two--just days after 9/11/01. Having moved to Virginia late last year, she says the hardest part about meeting new friends is explaining what diabetes is. A Children's Congress delegate in 2005, Holland is proud to be this year's ChairKid. She loves ballet and tap, singing in choir, drama, reading and writing stories, and she'll be on the swim team this summer at her diabetes camp. She'd like to be a teacher when she grows up. The family has achieved Walk fundraising records, and Holland has appeared on the JDRF 2004 Annual Report cover, and in public service videos.
