Morgan from Texas
Profile:
Three years ago, Morgan moved with her family to Texas, and three weeks later she was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes. Although her life changed dramatically, she was determined not to be identified by her disease, but rather, by her personality. Fortunately, she came to discover that her new friends "really did like me for me." Now 16, even with a cast on her foot, she proudly made the varsity soccer team at her high school. Her next goals are to bungee jump before she turns 18, and then travel around the world. Her long-term goal is to become a journalist, and she dreams about a cure and the day when she won't have to prick her fingers or give herself a shot.
