Felicia from Rhode Island
Profile:

When children first talk about diabetes to people outside their family, it's often to their own classmates. In Felicia's case, it was a sister act. When Felicia was four, and had been living with diabetes for two years, her older sister did a class presentation about diabetes, and Felicia went along to answer questions and demonstrate testing. Since then, Felicia, now 11, has "talked the talk" on many occasions for the Promise to Remember Me campaign, the Walk, and as a JDRF Youth Ambassador. She likes to swim and play basketball, and she's musically talented, playing flute and guitar, and singing in school musicals and at a local coffeehouse with her father and sister. She wants to be a teacher and to help to find a cure for diabetes when she grows up.
