Noah from Pennsylvania
Profile:

Just when Noah's family started getting in the groove of handling his older sister Rachel's diabetes, Noah himself was diagnosed at the age of 6. Not that the family was unfamiliar with the disease: their father had had type 1 since he was 27. Still, it was hard starting 6th grade at a new school and having to constantly explain his condition. Now 11, Noah lists his favorite pastimes as ice hockey (he was awarded for his "perseverance, dedication and spirit"), football, swimming, gardening, and cooking. He aspires to be either a veterinarian or NHL player. He and Rachel have attended educational conferences to learn more about research. The siblings were interviewed for a local TV show, and they traveled to Washington to meet their U.S. representatives.
