Dalton from Pennsylvania
Profile:

In a speech he gave at a JDRF event, Dalton, 9, spoke about the pleasures of life he anticipates after a cure is found. "I will live a day without the clock. . . I will wake up with the morning sun with a big SMILE on my face." Diagnosed four years ago, Dalton likes riding his bike, playing football and Game Boy, doing tae kwon do, and helping his dad out on the farm. He's good at math, wants to learn more about science, and maybe become a scientist one day. As a "Promise to Remember Me" kid, Dalton has met with his Members of Congress, and he speaks to kids at his school and others about his disease. He also communicates with JDRF-funded researcher Massimo Trucco in Pittsburgh and has toured his lab.
