Megan from Ohio
Profile:

For her 13th birthday last year, Megan said the one thing she wanted most was a cure. She was diagnosed at 11 and feels for very young children "who have to be pinned down four times a day to get a shot or be hooked into a pump." She loves kids and has already talked to classes at a children's hospital and been a camp counselor. Future aspiration: becoming a pediatric intensive care nurse. Her other interests include field hockey and track, singing in the Kinderchor Choir, and acting in plays with a children's theatre company. She hopes singing and acting will be part of her future, as well. Megan has talked about research, living with diabetes, and her Walk team, Megan's Miracle Workers, on six radio stations and with three local newspapers.
