Connor from New York

Profile:

Connor, 7, says having diabetes is scary for him because there is so much to keep track of. When he is taken to the ER at his local hospital, the doctors sometimes don't know how to treat him, which frightens him. He has to go to Vermont to see a personal physician with expertise in his disease because there is none in his home town. Connor likes jumping on the trampoline with friends, and playing soccer, basketball, baseball, and football. When he grows up, he wants to teach science. He has helped raise awareness by participating in the Walk, and he has taught his friends and teammates about his disease. He also has gone with his mom and sister to speak to student nurses at the State University of New York.
