Aleah from New York
Profile:

Aleah is 17, and has lived with type 1 diabetes since she was 6. She says that managing her diabetes over the years has been "a lot of hard work and effort," particularly as a teenager striving to fit in with her peers. Despite her ups and downs, she maintains a full and active life that includes golf and horseback riding. Aleah also likes to write, draw, and act. In school, her biggest interests are law, science, and theatre. She plans to go to law school after college and become a prosecutor. At Children's Congress, Aleah says she wants to meet other teens with diabetes and share experiences, and to give our leaders in Washington a better understanding of what it's like to be a teenager with diabetes.
