Vicky was diagnosed when she was six. She has raised more than $10,000 in the JDRF Walk. Vicky enjoys reading and writing, and plays violin and tennis. She is involved in her school’s animal welfare club, and the literary magazine. She also enjoys painting, drawing, and ceramics. One day she would like to be a surgeon. She has won first place in both Concepts and Problem Solving in the regional MCTM math contest when she was in sixth grade, and received first prize in the art division of the regional To Kill a Mockingbird contest. As a delegate, Vicky hopes to spread awareness about type 1 diabetes, both the dangers and hopes of finding a cure in the future. “By raising awareness, I hope to help raise money toward a cure.”
