Profile: At two years old, Ryan’s diagnosis of type 1 diabetes changed his life forever. Nine years later, his sister Kelly was also diagnosed with the disease. Ryan, 11, wears an insulin pump, which helps him manage his disease easier, but is a constant reminder that he has a disease. But it hasn’t stopped him: Ryan’s favorite sports include hockey, baseball, and football, but he also enjoys snowboarding, skiing, wake boarding and water skiing.
