Profile: Jack was diagnosed nearly two months after he began having symptoms of diabetes, but luckily, he was able to pull through. Now almost five, Jack enjoys playing Thomas the Train and riding his scooter. His favorite movie is The Polar Express. He would like to play hockey and golf one day, and become a doctor or politician.

She was on the pump, but decided to go back to shots so that she could keep her disease more private at school. Jada has a passion for art and music, and would like to be a singer/song writer one day. She also enjoys such sports as tennis, volleyball, and golf.

He uses an insulin pump, which makes his disease management easier. “I can eat whatever I want, do whatever I want to do, and go wherever life takes me. But I still cannot live without that absence of fear. I still need to watch myself as closely as I can to prevent a tragedy from occurring.

But she doesn’t let it stop her, and participates in several different sports, including basketball and soccer. She also likes swimming and acting, and was one of the stepsisters in a production of “Cinderella.” She would like to be a nurse to work with children with diabetes or a teacher to work with children who have learning disabilities.
