Caitlin from Maine
Profile:

Caitlin, 13, has been living with diabetes for about two years now, and a year ago she decided that "if a cure was going to happen, I had to make it happen." She sent out letters to family and friends for her first Walk, and she's proud that her whole soccer team walked with her. What's more, she won the Golden Shoe and the "Jump in with Both Feet" awards at the event. Soccer is only one of her many activities, which also include ski team, lacrosse, swimming, band, and chorus. Her interests also include reading, animals, designing clothes and rooms, music, and "just having a good time." She's a high academic achiever as well--including the Kumon math program and being on the High Honor roll throughout her middle school years.
