Aidan from Maine
Profile:

Aidan was diagnosed two months before he turned 2. His first full sentence was "All done, mommy," as the doctors and nurses finished putting in IV's in the emergency room. He went on an insulin pump just two days later. Now 5, Aidan likes swimming, hiking, doing gymnastics, dancing and hitting whiffle balls. His biggest hobby is art. He wants to become a doctor and work with his dad in the ER. Even at his young age, Aidan is familiar with Capitol Hill--he was the youngest witness to appear before the Senate Committee on Homeland Security and Government Affairs. He accompanied his mom last fall as she testified in support of the artificial pancreas and continuous glucose monitor. He also leads his Walk team, Aidan's Activists.
