Galit from Maryland
Profile:

Just 10 days after being diagnosed with diabetes at the age of 12, Galit was able to go off to a sleep-away summer camp for a month. That was two years ago, and she still hasn't let diabetes get in the way of her life. At 14, she's outgoing and equally enjoys the academic and athletic parts of school. She plays volleyball, softball and tennis, and has studied voice and languages for several years. She plans to go to college to study international politics and economics, and aspires to provide help to populations in developing countries. She is also actively involved with supporting JDRF. In addition to participating in the Walk every year, she has been a featured guest speaker at her chapter's gala in Washington, DC.
