Profile: Diagnosed at age nine, Benjamin, now 13, uses an insulin pump and checks his blood sugar six times a day. He does not enjoy this, or having to count carbohydrates and plan everything. But he is not only concerned for himself—he worries about the thousands of kids who are diagnosed with type 1 as well as him. He is excited about JDRF’s new campaign From Research to Reality: The Campaign to Accelerate the Cure for Diabetes, because he hopes he can eventually be cured
