Profile: Payton was diagnosed at age five, and has handled her disease with strength and grace, according to her mom, taking every opportunity to help raise money to find a cure. She has participated in Walks and has been invited to speak at several corporate kick-off meetings. She has been a mentor to many children recently diagnosed with type 1. Payton enjoys writing, music, and dancing. She would like to be a nurse someday, working with babies.
