Chandler from Delaware
Profile:

Chandler, 9, was diagnosed four days after his fourth birthday, and his family was soon faced with learning to manage his health and finding a day care center with staff that could take care of him - a difficult task. Five years later, Chandler is in a public school with a great staff, and is a happy, athletic kid. He skateboards, fishes, goes crabbing, swims, and plays baseball and football. He hopes that one day he'll play football with Texas University "and then be drafted by a professional team." Diabetes spurred the family to become advocates. Chandler and his mother met with their U.S. Senators during the JDRF Promise to Remember campaign. He's a youth ambassador for JDRF and leads the Chandler's Chicken Noodle Soup Walk team.
