Cammy from Connecticut
Profile:

Cammy, 12, loves volleyball, trampoline, bike riding with her dad, horseback riding, and doing crafts in Girl Scouts. Most of all, she likes to hang out with her brothers and sisters and play with her dogs, Maisy and Dudley. Diagnosed when she was 4, she can't remember a time when she didn't have diabetes. She does everything she can to keep her blood sugar in control, "but it gets very tiring, and I often wonder why I had to get diabetes." Anxious to do her part, Cammy has assisted with JDRF fundraisers at her school, sold stuffed animals to raise money for research, and every year enjoys volunteering for the Special Olympics. "I like being part of a team," she says. "I want to help people and be happy."
