Profile: Erin was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes at age eight; since then, she and her mother have participated in many events to support research toward a cure, including JDRF’s Ride to Cure Diabetes and singing and dancing at fundraisers; she is also a JDRF Ambassador. An award-winning dancer, Erin has been in many musical theater productions in the Denver metro area. One day, she’d like to write a book of poems, and be on a television show or in a movie.

Profile: Kelsey moved to the U.S. from South Africa in 1999, the same year she was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes at age six. She uses an insulin pump, and is a very active member of JDRF, volunteering whenever she can. She has appeared in commercials advertising Walks and Galas, and has spoken at public events about her disease. Her Walk team has been raising money for JDRF for eight years.
