Quinn from Arizona
Profile:

Quinn had been an amazingly healthy boy up through his third birthday. Then what seemed like routine winter sickness turned out to be a life-changing diagnosis. Now, the family doesn't go anywhere without a diabetes kit to check his blood sugar and give him shots, and a glucagon injection pack in case of emergency. Now 4, Quinn likes swimming, tennis, playing with his collection of pirate figures, and hunting and fishing with his dad. "I am very fast," he says about his athletic ability. His family, all active JDRF volunteers, formed a Walk team called The Mighty Quinns. Quinn himself sometimes raises funds by running a lemonade stand. Quinn has come to Washington, DC "to let people know how little guys like me have to deal with this disease."
