Sam Bearman: Thanks for the support

I am really excited about all the support the community has planned for me as a delegate to the Children's Congress.  On Saturday, May 19, the Rocky Mountain JDRF chapter held its annual Dream Gala, "Discovering a Cure", to raise money for diabetes research.  Our Congressional Representative, Diana Degette, spoke and introduced me!  I wore a tuxedo for the first time in my life.  My parents go to the gala almost every year but this was my first.  It was an unforgettable experience.

My school has a newsletter and they will be printing an article about me and my work with the JDRF just before Children's Congress.  Then there is a television interview planned.  I will be interviewed by Molly Hughes, news anchor for CBS channel 4. I plan to talk about my trip to Washington, D.C., and what I hope to accomplish.  Lastly, I will be featured in the Rocky Mountain JDRF newsletter later in the summer.

What I really care about is a cure, for me and all the other kids with diabetes.  I hope people care about my story enough to help us.
