Dear Delegates and Parents,

I wanted to say ‘Hello’ and introduce myself to you since I am fairly new to the JDRF family, having joined as President and CEO in January. Leading the foundation in the coming years promises its share of rewards and challenges.

In just the short time I’ve been here, I’ve heard from staff and volunteers alike about the significance of Children’s Congress and the impact the delegates have in raising awareness about type 1 diabetes to our Members of Congress. You truly are the most persuasive ambassadors the JDRF has in its fight for a cure for type 1. 

I wish you the best and look forward to meeting you in person this summer.

Congratulations on being selected to JDRF's Children's Congress 2009! This will be the sixth Children's Congress in the program’s 10 year history and probably the toughest to have been selected to considering the nearly 1,500 applicants.
